Sometimes things don’t work out the way you planned. A business trip gave me the opportunity to get to Florida on the 1st of February. I’ve been to Florida many times and February is typically perfect weather. But this time I get all the way to Florida, and it’s one of the colder days of the winter.
Of course Florida’s definition of cold is different than most, so it was still in the low 70’s – but there was a persistent breeze off the ocean and occasional clouds that didn’t deliver the typical sultry, tropical feeling that you usually get at Haulover. But it was still a nude day, on one of America’s best nude beaches, so you can’t complain very much.
The local crowd was there in full force with dozens of wind screens, umbrellas tilted against the wind and mixing and mingling going on. It’s a very social group, and I’m sure it would be easy to introduce yourself and get into the group – but this was a short visit so I kept to myself.
Even though it’s the middle of winter, the water is still in the mid 70’s, so went for a swim.
The water was great. Went for a few walks the length of the beach and worked on taking some pictures for this report.
I did learn that from February 20 – 22 when the South Florida Free Beaches group has a big event planned for the beach. Not sure I can make it back that soon, but sounds like a great time.
Weather forecast in California isn’t promising for next weekend, but we’ll do our best to get a nude report. With spring and summer just around the corner!
